Vote for a new location on Chandler Avenue! - Part Deux
i voted for Rusty’s FunHouse re-opened
and then its name hmmmm Rusty’s FunHouse 2.0 or Rusty’s final resting place.
Heh, maybe the rival PI could be someone we already know, like Clint, or even Luci Luv. "Youve inspired me to become a detective myself, Tex! ISN'T THAT GREAT!?!?! O_O "
Some good options to choose from there but if i can only pick one it has to be a rival private investigator, always dreamt of Tex having a rival PI, would love to have the rival PI incorporated into the story, it would make it more complicated for the developers but alot alot of fun for the game player :)
A rival private investigator is a great idea. Since tragic circumstances have prevented Mac Malden from returning.
Man, at this point voting for anything BUT the rival PI is like voting for Ron Paul.
C'mon Jazz club! What's a noir game without it? And a Jazz club can include a trashy bar by default.
That's a great point - a trashy jazz club!
Trashy bar has so much potential for story and investigation. Plus I want to keep Chandler Ave seedy.
Name suggestions for a Tarot Shop:
Third Eye Open
The Tea Room
Just a Glimpse
Why a Tarot Shop? Well, what better place to go when you:
Need a hint?
Need to give Tex some information that he can't get any other way?
Want to tie the current story to the hints about Fabrege eggs and past lives?
Want to introduce a sexy fortune teller, a possible rival for Chelsie in Tex's affections?
Gotta go with a Tarot Shop. :)
A store for Mutants, made by Mutants!
Suggested name: Mu-topia :)
Come on! It's Crazy Gary! Best 10 minutes of speeches in the whole game!!
Just wondering, will this be announced on Kickstarter too? Some may not be following here closely yet until the new section of the site for Project Fedora updates.
I think having a rival PI, would be an interesting twist and provide more avenues for the story to go. Could be a competitor on a side mission or on the main storyline. I think personally it should be a woman passing off as a mutant. Her name could have the initials P. I. OR make it an anagram from "private investigator".
"Menace's Speeder Shop & Repair"
Since I suggested it I think my pic should be on the back wall as the owner lol
Would Menace's first name be Dennis by any chance?
I think it's great you let us choose a new location.
However, it's one thing to choose a location but another is how it is incorporated in the game. For me that's a very important aspect as well and it may decide which I pick over the other. For example, is the location part in the main storyline or part of an optional sidetrack? And will the location be important or just a novelty? Will you be able to examine it, or do you only visit it to meet a character to interview.
But on the other hand, it is probably too soon-ish to give more information on that?
Red sky blues
Just a thought based on the red torched skies
How about "The Distilled Swing"? Partially derived from a Raymond Chandler Quote about "A good story cannot be devised; it has to be distilled." Much like good alcohol which no doubt will be provided at the Jazz Club along with some swing dancing.
Chelsee's Bookstore isn't there, that sucks... I really wanted her to upgrade from that plywood newsstand... After seeing that lavish apartment of hers, we know she has the money to upgrade...
Okay I voted for the Rival P.I... Let's call it:
So many good choices, but I had to pick the Jazz Club.
How about either:
Smoke & Mirrors
Sam Spade's (would also work for the Fedora Repair Shop)
Well, since I threw it into the ring, I'm going for the "Mutant Emporium". A one stop shop for the genetically impared.
I thought with the Morlocks and all of the mutants around Chandler Av, that it would be a snug fit. Tex could get a Morlock disguise in order to explore the outlying areas safely, there could be an ear to the ground on what's going on with the Mutant population, and a new business that's more than just food. A place you could buy things useful for the game, and hopefully some witty repartee between Tex and the propertier.
Speeder Repair Shop: "El Speeder Gonzalez", owned by a mutant Mexican with rodent face.
What ghetto fabulous neigtborhood DOESN'T have some kind of car/'speeder repairshop somewhere?? I was born and raised in the poor areas and there was always a tire repair/oilchnge joint or a 'Sam's' who could fix stuff and even wash the family heap for cheap. Tex's speeder wasn't new or even the fanciest speeder around. Surely, he would need to get it tuned up once in a while at the very least. Next would be liquor stores. There was ALWAYS at least one 'booze jernt' followed by the store front church.
I totally agree with having a rival FEMALE PI, in fact having the pi be female sprang to mind instantly the minute I saw it in the first poll. Besides competing with Tex she could also cause problems between Tex and Chelsee, mabe even having a story arc that has Chelsee dealing with her in clever and humorous fashion.
I have a few suggestions for the rival Pi office.
Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency. (From the Douglas Adams books)
Better than TEXas
Mutant Eye - Private Investigator
Mutant eye, sounds good, but I KNOW these guys. They're smart and know that Tex is somewhere in the hood. They won't want to step on his toes since he's been gumshoing for a longer time and would do business with them anytime.
